Bishop Mamza Commissions First ever Christian Secretariat tomorrow

All is set after just a period of one year of planning and execution for the building and commissioning of the first ever secretariat for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Adamawa State chapter.

The State CAN Chairman, Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza of the Catholic Diocese of Yola alongside the national president for CAN, Pastor Samson Olasupo Adeniyi Ayokunle, will tomorrow, the 5^th day of January 2020 preside over the commissioning ceremony. This is to be considered one of the greatest achievements of Christians in the state, thanks to the vision of the present State CAN Chairman and his team of executives.

Recall that Bishop Mamza was elected in 2017. By 2018, he felt there was the need for a structure that Christians in the state can call their own. And ever since he never relented in sourcing for funds locally to carry out this feat.

Addressing YCVNEWS in his residence this afternoon, the State CAN Chairman says “as you can see, all is set for commissioning as far as the secretariat is concerned. We are only looking forward to tomorrow and God willing all shall be part of our history as Christians in the state.”

Talking about what this means to him and his fellow Christians in the state, the Cleric maintains that “the secretariat alongside other churches across the state will serve to radiate the presence of God for humanity.” He further maintains that “for us Catholics especially, tomorrow is the Epiphany of the Lord and I believe that this is one of the ways God reveals Himself to humanity.”

This is to be considered one of the major projects carried out by Adamawa Christians and until now, Christians in the state have had to rent structures for their secretarial work and other CAN activities. The national president CAN has since arrived Yola for the ceremony.
