IDPs in St. Theresa and Damare Camps get Christmas clothes

As Christians prepare to celebrate Christmas the Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese who is also the state CAN chairman Bishop Stephen Dami mamza has called on christains in the state to respect the COVID-19 protocol.

The Bishop made the call while distributing Christmas clothes to internally displaced person at saint Theresa camp and Damare camp Wednesday.

Bishop Stephen Dami mamza explained that in preparation for Christmas and to enable the displaced person celebrate the day joyfully the church with the support of Take Heart Foundation.

“Their Target was zero to eighteen years but thank God the clothes were enough for all of the displaced persons” according to Bishop Mamza.

The Bishop Also called on the beneficiaries to intensify prayers for the challenges the country is facing particularly on security and Covid-19 pandemic.

The cleric then urged christains regarding Christmas celebration amidst COVID-19 that churches should not be over populated rather separate the Masses or Services as the second wave of the pandemic spread more than the first one.

He advised people not to be overwhelmed by the Christmas celebration but take necessary precaution by wearing face mask, washing of hands and observe social distance.

Responding, some of the beneficiaries Regina Daniel, Christopher Luka remained very appreciative of the kind gesture extended to them especially that it never crossed their minds that such magnanimous act of charity was coming their way and so they pray God to bless the donors abundantly.
