The Adamawa state Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria Bishop Dami Mamza and his Muslim counterpart Mallam Gambo Jika said the surest and safest way out of the COVID-19 pandemic is a vaccine.
The clergymen express this when they led their executives to the Yola specialist hospital where they received their first shot of AstraZeneca vaccine.
Speaking to journalists, Bishop Mamza and Mallam Gambo Jika said the World Health Organization has certified the vaccines currently in use by different nations and therefore there should not be any cause for alarm. The two religious leaders appeal to members of their respective religions to avail themselves of the vaccine noting that the vaccination is meant to protect the lives of every human being, noting that COVID-19 affected adversely economic activities by shutting down the entire world. They explained that this is the reason why health experts stood their ground to come up with a vaccine that will stop the high death rate inflicted by the pandemic.
Certificates were issued to all those who received their first shot.
